Quick Questions With Deitre

DEITRE is a provocative new wave Glam Rock duo rooted in NYC, drenched in its cultural revolution. Richie Bee leads this all-out sensory experience with a striking, charismatic stage presence, fusing artful androgyny with a piercing vibrato and heartfelt lyrics in dramatic fashion.

What may at first seem like an unlikely pairing, guitarist and producer Peter Savad creates a perfect melodic and aesthetic balance with his love for simple, stripped down rock and roll. As a result, this art-rock power-pop pair develop a space that feels less like another rock band, and more like an all-encompassing queer-empowered troupe of socially entwined, gender-blended performers.

Committed to their grassroots approach of distributing raw entertainment directly to the people, they have gained trust and devotion in climbing numbers, igniting once dormant themes of rage, faith, sexuality, and self-worth through the ethereal sounding Rock experience of the DEITRE doctrine.

Quick Questions

Answered by Pete, guitarist/co-writer/producer for Deitre.

1. Who inspired you to start playing?

I started piano lessons at age 3 because I was already starting to play songs on the radio by ear. It’s just what I do.

2. Which piece of equipment couldn’t you live without?

Equipment is minimal for me, the Mac does it all…so Mac.

3. What’s your favourite album of the year so far?

There’s a good one? I haven’t listened to an entire new album in years. Song of the year so far for me is “Shallow”.

4. If you could have a lesson from anyone, alive or dead, who would it be?

Bob Clearmountain. He pioneered the sound of modern rock. Compare 1975 to 1985, that huge change was largely due to Bob’s techniques of recording/mixing.

5. What is your number one tip for any new player?

Learn cover songs that push you out of your comfort zone. If you’re struggling to write, get a writing partner.

Deitre are about to release a third video off their debut album for “Jesse”.
