Quick Questions With Ricky Morales From Event Horizon

Event Horizon is a five piece progressive metalcore act from New Orleans, Louisiana. With such influences ranging from After the Burial, Born of Osiris, Tesseract and The Contortionist, they bring a fresh twist on metalcore, focusing on melodies and atmosphere instead of the weight of the music. I recently caught up with Ricky Morales to ask him the Guitar Noodle Quick Questions.

Honestly Shavo Odadjian the bassist from System of a Down. I initially set out to be a bassist. But a girl I was seeing at the time liked guitarists so 16 year old me was like hell yeah. 2. Which piece of equipment couldn’t you live without?

I’m a pretty barebones player so I’m going to have to say tube amps.

3. What’s your favourite album of the year so far?

Favorite album of 2019. Gotta say After the Burial’s “Evergreen”

4. If you could have a lesson from anyone, alive or dead, who would it be?

Hands down Justin Lowe of after the burial.
But alive it’s gonna be David Davidson

5. What is your number one tip for any new player?
