Quick Questions With The FullBug

The FullBug is a four-piece hard rock band from Tel Aviv, Israel. After spending years playing in various groups within the Israeli punk rock scene, the band formed in 2015 under the name “Project Revival”. In 2017, Project Revival released it’s debut album, “Heavy Gravy”. That year they won the prestigious “Best Rock Act” award from Radio WigWam in the UK.

In 2018, after changing the band’s lineup and its name to “The Full Bug” (slang for “give it everything you got!”), the band set out to record their first E.P, titled “Black Hole Syndrome”. Produced independently and mixed by Daniel Brecher, the “Black Hole Syndrome” EP, which features Lavy Josephsohn as the lead vocalist and guitarist, has a big and epic rock sound filled with heavy riffs and melodic choruses.

The Fullbug Interview

1. Who inspired you to start playing?

Lavy: Joe Perry and Aerosmith was a big influence.

Nadav: Angus Young. I was listening to AC/DC, and his style blew me away. In that moment I knew I have to start playing myself. Not too long after, I got my first guitar for my birthday.

2. Which piece of equipment couldn’t you live without?

You don’t need anything except your guitar and amp. And also a wah, tuner, distortion pedal and a delay. but that’s it. A whammy pedal couldn’t hurt either, and a phaser.

3. What’s your favourite album of the year so far?

‘The Damned Things’ – High Times. Their new album sounds great, love this super group.

Also, the new ‘Rival Sons’ album – Feral Roots. I can’t get enough from these guys.

4. If you could have a lesson from anyone, alive or dead, who would it be?

Definitely Dean DeLeo from Stone Temple Pilots.

5. What is your number one tip for any new player?

Practice practice practice, join a band then keep practicing.
